HAPPY SUMMER DAYS TO ALL ,

Just wanted to touch base and let everyone know how the teams are performing in the post season.

TEAMS

15Mizuno - travelled to Orlando and finished 9th of 40 teams. The team was in contention for the championship until the last night. The next day the team won three straight matches to take home the Consolation Division Championship medals.

16Mizuno - Also spent a week in Orlando and was in the championship bracket until the last day and finished 21st out of 120 teams. The highlight of the week was day three when they swept their pool which included two previously undefeated teams and was ranked as high as #7.

Excellent job girls and coaches

Starting June 29th, the 15Tornado (now known as 16Tornado) will compete in Anaheim against some of the top teams in Southern California at the Summer Soiree.

Meanwhile in Indianapolis, the 17Mizuno will compete in the USA Volleyball Junior Nationals (17National Division).

Good Luck to both these teams and staff!!

CLINICS

High School and Middle School volleyball seasons are coming up and if you want to work on your game please check out our selection of Carson City, Reno, and Sand clinics.

Carson City Clinics

Sand Clinics (Reno)

With all SSVC clinics we try and keep the player to instructor ratio at no more than 8:1 to insure all players get quality instruction. We also specialize in position specific coaching and all of our coaches have played or coached at the college level. if you do not see a clinic that works for you or you have a group that wants to build their own clinic please contact Jordan, Mike Williams, or Sonny and they will put something together for you.

Many players and parents have asked why most of the Silver State coaches do not coach High School or Middle School and the answer is simply that we try to remain completely neutral when selecting players for our club teams. Most of our teams are composed of players from all over Northern Nevada and we feel this allows for all players to improve at a faster rate. Also it means that our staff can attend everyone's games and cheer for our players!

SPECIAL WELCOME

We would also like to welcome Shavawn Forester PhD, RDN to our "Friends of Silver State" program. Shavawn is on the staff at University of Nevada and has put together a program about Nutrition. Here is a link to her website and we will be sending out more info in the next few months.

The "friends of Silver State" program is a partnership between Silver state Youth Sports and local professionals who would like to give back to the community. If you would like to be part of the program, please contact Jordan Reeder at the Carson City facility 775 883-3500

BEST WISHES TO ALL,
SILVER STATE STAFF
